‘Longlegs’ Review
Horror is in good hands with Oz Perkins. So much of today’s horror is blood for the sake of blood and jump scares for the sake of a jump scare. But Longlegs is a breath of fresh air in that sense. Longlegs is horror with purpose.
‘Femme’ Review
Sam H. Freeman and Ng Choon Ping’s 2024 thriller, ‘Femme’ is an extremely empty, yet visually gorgeous attempt at adding something new to the conversation when it comes to queer cinema. Even the solid performances and stunning cinematography couldn’t save the lack of direction that was ultimately holding the film back, keeping an interesting concept from it’s full potential.
‘Thelma’ Review
Oscar-nominated actress, June Squibb takes a dramatic turn from films like Nebraska (for which she was nominated), to a wholesome and hilarious adventure about taking back what was stolen from her. The 94 year old actress is not to be messed with, and it shows.
